UN Secretary-General’s Condolence Message for the tragic accident of the US-Bangla Airlines in Katmandu, Nepal.

New York, 13 March, 2018:

Today, UN Secretary-General (SG) António Guterres has sent a condolence message to the Permanent Representative (PR) of Bangladesh to the UN, Ambassador Masud Bin Momen expressing his deepest sympathies to the Government, people and victims of the tragic accident of US-Bangla Airlines at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal, yesterday.

“Dear Masud,

I was extremely saddened to learn of the accident of US-Bangla Airlines flight 211 which occurred at the Tribhuvan Airport in Kathmandu yesterday. On behalf of the SG and my own, please accept sincere condolences on the tragic loss of lives resulting from it.

Allow me to also convey deepest sympathies to the Government and people of Bangladesh, as well as to the families and loved ones of the victims.

Rest assured that the United Nations family mourns with you during this difficult period.
